Summer looks to have been and gone and autumn is around the corner, but if you're already planning a Christmas read to curl up with by the fire with a mug of tea or a glass of something (that would be my choice)
look no further.
Last week my publisher - Dave Lyons of Raven Crest Books - and I, had a very productive afternoon working on the cover of the new Mike Travis book, Midwinter. As you can guess from it's title, you can expect a seasonal read, and meet all of the usual cast of your favourite characters and say hello to a couple of new ones .
In the bleak Midwinter, frosty winds made moan, earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone ..... and an ancient evil was released from it's millennia-long imprisonment to wreak havoc in the tiny Welsh village of Gorsddu (pronounced Gorse Thee). The village takes it's name from the original Y Gors Ddu, which translates as The Black Bog which is a raised peat bog lying at the foot of the mountain that looms over the village. The bog holds a secret - a secret that once uncovered brings chaos and evil to the stricken village. Iron-Age Celts, human sacrifice and village rivalries combine to hopefully, keep you entertained through the dark days of December. Release date for the book? Midwinter's Day of course - December 21st.
So, a cover reveal following our hard work last week ....
Hope you enjoy it.
